The catalogue will be published by JRP|Ringier in French and English and will include a series of questions for the artists prepared y Lionel Bovier and Marc Jancou, a work of fiction by Marc Levy, an essay by Yves Aupetitallot, the Director of Magasin Grenoble, and color images. On September 26, 1966, Saint Laurent became the first couturier to open a ready-to-wear boutique under his name. In Rive Gauche / Rive Droite, the works will be shown under Azzedine Alaïa's skylights, in the private office of Etienne Breton and Marc Blondeau, at the ceramicist specialist Lefebvre & Fils, in the exhibition space of Catherine Houard, in the private residence of auctioneer Jean Marcel Camard, and at the legendary shop of Deyrolle.

Another inspiration for the show was The Meat Wagon (2005) at The Menil Collection, Texas in which works by Robert Gober were set in dialogue with objects from the permanent collection in unconventional locations throughout the museum, creating a series of unexpected encounters. The show was inspired in part by Chambres d'amis (1986) at the Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst, Gent, in which artworks were displayed in local residents' homes within the city.

Rive Gauche / Rive Droite will function as a walk through Paris, with works placed in various locations, which are rarely accessible to the public. Michael Bauer, Alexandra Bircken, Cris Brodahl, Carter, Ross Chisholm, Michael Cline, Steven Claydon, Slawomir Elsner, Charlie Hammond, Andy Hope 1930, Christian Holstad, Des Hughes, Richard Hughes, Meredith James, Larry Johnson, Dorota Jurczak, Justin Lieberman, Nick Lowe, David Noonan, Ry Rocklen, Sterling Ruby, Jim Shaw, Torsten Slama, Michael Smith, Lucy Stein, Stefan Thater, and Jacques Vidal. The exhibition will feature new work as well as site-specific work by 27 international artists. A catalogue will be published by JRP|Ringier to accompany each exhibition and will be uniform in format. This show is the second in what will become a series of exhibitions held in various cities around the world the next exhibitions in the series will be held in Brussels and Madrid. Marc Jancou Contemporary is pleased to announce the exhibition Rive Gauche / Rive Droite, a group show organized by Marc Jancou following the recent exhibition In Geneva No One Can Hear You Scream (Geneva, April 2008).
